Dr Rentia Fourie is a member of the South African Medicolegal Association (SAMLA).
She enjoys assisting with medicolegal matters and representing claimants and defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence actions.
Dr Fourie is a cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in the surgical management of heart conditions, lung disease and chest trauma. She is a specialist in interpreting chest X-rays, CT scans, echocardiograms, angiograms, and myocardial perfusion scans, and can determine which heart or thoracic surgery is necessary and appropriate. Further, her extensive experience in the operating theatre enables her to review operation notes and assess the practical aspects of the cardiothoracic procedures performed. She has extensive experience in the Intensive Care Unit.
